Holocaust Survivor Encyclopedia: Washington State - Stories, artifacts, and photos of survivors who made Washington State their home.

Lithuania and Poland | June 24 - July 3, 2018 | Open to all. The Holocaust Center for Humanity invites you to explore the history and culture of Lithuania and Poland. Come with us to the places important in the history of the Holocaust and enter into a dialogue with local witnesses, experts, and educators.

Trip includes: Vilnius, Warsaw, Treblinka, Tykocin, Polin Museum, Krakow, Schindler’s Factory, Plaszow, Warsaw Zoo, Auschwitz-Birkenau, meetings with a survivor , rescuer, and local educators, and Shabbat dinner at the Krakow Jewish Community Center.

There is a significant amount of walking on this trip.

 

A trip geared to those who want an in-depth and meaningful experience with other open-minded travelers committed to Holocaust education. Pre-reading materials will be suggested and a pre-trip meeting will be held in Seattle in late May. Participating teachers will have the opportunity to share and discuss lesson plans and will receive clock hours. For those researching and exploring their own family histories, we are happy to help make suggestions or connections. Custom extensions are available.

Costs

$4495 (per person, double occupancy) | $5590 (per person, single room)
$500 non-refundable deposit due at registration. Payment due in full May 1, 2018

Educators: Limited partial scholarships will be available to teachers currently teaching in a classroom. 100 Clock Hours offered for no additional fee.

Costs include: Accommodation in five-star hotels, daily breakfasts and additional meals as listed, land transportation (private bus), one-way plane ticket from Vilnius to Warsaw, 1st class tickets for express train from Warsaw to Krakow, trip manager/special guide, entry fees, local guides, and baggage handling at hotels and railway stations. Airfare and recommended travel insurance not included.
