Wednesday, November 15 | 11:30am - 1:30pm | At the Henry and Sandra Friedman Holocaust Center for Humanity
As violence toward the ethnic Rohingya in Burma/Myanmar escalates, the flood of refugees poses a challenge for Burma and neighboring countries. The US Holocaust Memorial Museum and other human rights organizations have called the systematic targeting of the Rohingya an act of ethnic cleansing.
Mona Han, Executive Director of Coalition for Refugees from Burma, and Erika Berg, curator of Forced to Flee (on display now at the Holocaust Center) will address the current conflict in Burma and describe their work with refugees.
